of Diversity - ISF/PSFO

Empowering educators to expand their reflection of diversity with an inclusive and relevant approach is a fundamental aspect to the role of an ISF and PSFO. This interactive session focuses on how to empower services to incorporate diversity holistically within their programs. Participants will learn how to support these services to further develop their understanding of diversity.

Topics to be Covered

 

  • Define and explore the impact on service delivery in implementing a tokenistic approach to addressing cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD)
  • Strategies to positively engage services to reflect the wider community into children’s programs

 

Session Outcomes

For participants to:

  • Review the tokenistic approach to diversity and expand understanding of associated issues
  • Identify strategies to constructively discuss tokenistic approaches and work towards reducing occurrence within services
