FKA Children’s Services (FKACS) delivers the Certificate III in Children’s Services and Diploma in Children’s Services as well as the Certificate IV in OSHC and the Diploma in OSHC.
Open Learning allows you to work at your own pace at times that suit you and your current lifestyle.
Open Learning delivery is a paper-based format that provides you with a hardcopy workbook for each of the units which provides you with the theory, learning tasks and the assessment requirements.
Some units also require the final assessment to be completed during a practical placement within a Children’s Service.
If you have completed any other formal studies you have the potential to have a number of Units Credit Transferred from your previous study.
The option of RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) is also available to you should you believe that you have the experience and knowledge and can provide evidence to support this.
We value the skills of all educators and apply the principles of adult learning theory to offer individualised support and training plans to all learners whether they are enrolled in a qualification or undertaking the RPL process.
Learners are valued for their past professional experience. We work with them using a solutions focused approach and easily understood language (not jargon) to support them to identify relevant evidence and gaps.
We are able to encourage, not only a successful RPL process, but positive recognition that draws on strengths. Our goal is to assist learners to demonstrate competencies and motivate and empower them to become lifelong learners.
Our RPL assessment is a rigorous and reliable process to assess competency, not just experience or paper evidence.
For example, work based assessments may be in the form of workplace projects, third party reports and observations from assessors/trainers. The FKACS RTO has developed a series of assessments that can be adapted and modified to meet individual and service needs and utilised as part of the RPL and gap training processes.
