The Value of Small Group Play/Learning through Play

Small group experiences provide a relaxed environment for children to practise using and learning their 1st language. Casual Bilingual Workers will develop ideas to support children and work alongside staff on how to create these small group experiences.

• Benefits of small group experiences for children from CALD backgrounds
• Planning for small group activities
• The role of the Casual Bilingual Workers

Session Outcomes

• Develop confidence in directing small group experiences
• Develop skills in forward planning for incidental small group activities
• Identify and develop practical ideas and resources to facilitate small group experiences
